FPWR Canada

The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research welcomed its first international affiliate, FPWR Canada, in 2007. Founded by families of people with PWS, FPWR Canada now serves as Canada's sole national PWS organization. The current president of FPWR Canada, Keegan Johnson, serves on the Board of FPWR.

Through 'One Small Step,' their primary fundraising organization, FPWR Canada has raised over $500,000 to support FPWR research. To date, FPWR Canada has funded three research projects through FPWR's competitive grant process, including research by Rachel Wevrick, Ph.D. from the University of Alberta.  In 2009, FPWR Canada hosted its first Medical Research Conference in Toronto, ON.
